All speculation about what characters will be added to the console versions of Street Fighter X Tekken can now cease. A hacker with an early version of the game disc was able to unlock assets and found complete or near-complete versions of all upcoming DLC characters playable on the disc.
With all of the leg work already done, some gamers are feeling a bit put out. A very significant portion of the game’s roster is already available at launch but is hidden behind a pay wall. Worse still, they won’t be available for weeks and months to help give the PS Vita version exclusive characters.
Capcom told Joystiq that the DLC was included on the disc to smooth loading and make online play smoother. Anyone who has played the most recent Mortal Kombat that downloadable DLC can create frustrating situations where large downloads are retired to make sure other players all have the same version of the game.
PS3 players will at least be able to get some freebies. Pacman and Megaman will be available two weeks after launch as free DLC.
Street Fighter X Tekken will be released tomorrow, March 6 and will be initially available on the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360.
