Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi’s latest game The Last Story has been available on the Wii in Japan for months now. American fans, however, have been left wondering if they’ll ever see Sakaguchi’s most recent release. In fact, Nintendo has been pretty discouraging to fans hoping to see the game in English.  However, the stars seem to be favoring Wii JRPG fans: The Last Story will be coming to the US after all.  The port will be handled by the California-based localization company Xseed.

This isn’t the first Wii RPG which beat the odds to receive an improbably western release. Monolith’s Xenoblade was equally unlikely to come to America, but is due for an April 2012 launch.

The release date for Last Story has yet to be set.
