Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn Appears on Indiegogo

For those of you who remember the 1994, Shaq Fu was a 2D beat-’em-up released on the Sega Genesis and the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game received incredibly poor reviews, but maintained a cult following due to its ridiculous premise (It’s Shaquille O’Neal saving a kid from a mummy. What more do you want?)

One can only hope Michael Jordan appears as a boss battle.

Now, with the help of Big Deez Productions, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn has appeared on Indiegogo with a new trailer, a $250,000 goal, and a promise that, “This time, we won’t fool it up.” The new game looks like it’s taking a cel-shaded 3D art style much like Street Fighter IV, and that it’s gameplay will mirror spectacle fighters.

The link to donate is here, with special gifts for donators (for $500, Shaq will follow your Instagram).

So, d’you think that this IP has any hope, or should this just remain vaporware? Leave a comment below.
