In what might just be the least surprising news of the year, Gearbox Software and 2K Games has officially announced that Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is coming to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in the form of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for release on March 24th of this year (27th outside of North America). The package, valued at over $100 on previous-gen consoles, will include season passes for both games and the ability to transfer saves from previous-gen consoles, as long as they’re within the same console family (PS3/Vita to PS4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One). All of this will cost $59.99. Neither resolution nor frame-rate has been announced, but for the first time ever, players can play 4-person split screen co-op across both titles.
2K also announced a special edition which includes the aforementioned games, a steel-case book, 12 exclusive lithographs, and a smart-phone controlled Claptrap, which can recite lines from the game and has a camera with a direct feed to the smart-phone controlling it. For those who feel this is necessary, expect to pay $399.99.
