Last Of Us Expansion Becomes PlayStation Standalone

The critically acclaimed expansion for The Last of Us, Left Behind, will soon be available as a standalone game!

The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog announced Friday that their award-winning expansion chapter Left Behind will be made available on the PlayStation store as a standalone game.

Starting May 12, players can purchase the additional single-player chapter for $9.99 for the PS4 and PS3. The Left Behind standalone will also feature “built-in upgrades paths through the in-game store” for both the Factions gameplay and the entirety of The Last of Us.

Left Behind focuses mainly on the events leading up to the The Last of Us, showcasing the relationship between Ellie and Riley as they escape from a boarding school and into an abandoned mall before Riley joins the Fireflies faction.

If you purchase the Left Behind standalone, you can purchase content upgrades at a reduced price. Below are the expansion possibilities for the PS4:

  • Full Factions Multiplayer – $9.99
  • Full digital single-player game with Treacherous Territories Map Pack
    (must already own Factions Multiplayer) – $29.99
  • Full digital single-player game, Factions Multiplayer Mode, and the Treacherous Territories Map Pack bundle – $39.99
