While fans of the series still wait with bated breath for the May 19 release of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, Fuero Games has attempted to ease the dead space in between with the release of The Witcher Battle Arena, a free-to-play MOBA for iOS and Android devices.
Players, split into teams of three, choose from nine available characters and work with teammates to secure open areas of a map, all the while battling the game’s AI or other players. Player characters include the standard allotment of fantasy archetypes, and Fuero Games has indicated that they will be developing additional warriors in future updates.
Unlike most free-to-play games, Battle Arena does not have an option for players to pay for upgrades or characters. CD Projekt RED, responsible for the Witcher series to date, stated that “the game features no pay to win elements and allows every item and functionality to be unlocked entirely via gameplay,” and that instead it features “elements known from role-playing games and a fair, player-friendly monetization system.”
You can download The Witcher Battle Arena for free from the Google Play Store or from the Apple App Store. Check out the Battle Arena gameplay trailer below!
