Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Standalone Prequel Announced

Nazis beware! In response to last year’s major success with Wolfenstein: The New Order, Bethesda and MachineGames have once again teamed up to produce a standalone prequel, Wolfenstein: Old Blood, Bethesda announced Wednesday.

Starting May 5, players will be able to once again assume the role of grizzled hero B.J. Blazkowicz and travel into Bavaria towards the end of World War II. Old Blood will arrive in two separate parts, with part one being titled Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves.  B.J.’s mission for part one is to locate the whereabouts of General Deathhead by breaking into Castle Wolfenstein and squaring off with a “maniacal prison warden.”

Part two of Old Blood, The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs, will have players encounter “an obsessed Nazi archaeologist” who is “exhuming mysterious artifacts that threaten to unleash a dark and ancient power.” This part of the story will take place in Wulfburg, a small city near Castle Wolfenstein.

Wolfenstein: Old Blood will be available on May 5 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC through download only, but will cost players a mere $20 to own. Check out the trailer (above) and tell us what you think!
