After first being revealed in 2013, Japan will finally be getting its Pokémon “cinematic adventure” next week on the eShop with Meitantei Pikachu: Shin Konbi Tanjyou, which roughly translates to Detective Pikachu: Birth of a New Duo. The game will cost 1,500 yen (which is close to $13 U.S.) and stars a boy named Tim, who teams up with a talking Pikachu detective after the two have a chance encounter. No other details about the game are known as of right now, and there’s currently no word if the game will be released outside of Japan.
The announcement of Detective Pikachu follows right on the heels of the franchise’s Super Bowl commercial, which was released yesterday in celebration of its 20th anniversary (you can watch it here).
