Today, Plarium Games (publishers of the Stormfall series, as well as an upcoming mobile game set in the Terminator universe), have announced a new AAA MMO mobile game, Throne: Kingdom of War. The game will have a “rich campaign” as well as the traditional PvP elements that mobile gaming fans have come to expect. Plarium’s new game boasts updated graphics, gameplay mechanics, and a brand new campaign with cinematic visuals.
“We are excited to bring fans a rich strategy franchise that encompasses some of the most interesting medieval lore with our own unique spin on it,” says Avi Shalel, CEO of Plarium. “We put a lot of an effort into bringing to life our own fictional version of the 13th to 15th centuries, and we provide every player with customization options to allow them to craft their own individual experience and gameplay style.”
With Clash of Clans developer Supercell recently being bought for over 8 billion dollars, it’s no surprise to see so many similar games being released. In a market that is quickly becoming oversaturated, Throne: Kingdom at War differs in that it offers deep levels of hero customization, as well as great visuals for a mobile game. Only time will tell whether or not Throne: Kingdom of War will make a lasting impression on the ever-volatile mobile marketplace, but at least Pokemon GO is on the decline, giving them a higher potential user base.
