News of Bungie’s highly anticipated title Destiny 2 has been coming at lightning speed since it was first announced back in the spring. Now that the game is out in the wild, the first expansion of the sequel to the 2014 original launch of the franchise has been listed.
With a posting on the Xbox Store, the first expansion for Destiny 2 is titled “Curse of Osiris”. While the listing doesn’t have a set release date, what’s included in the expansion has been mentioned. Included in the expansion is a patrol zone on Mercury, with a focal location to venture to called the “Infinite Forest”. Some of the more notable additions are features that are common to Destiny expansions, such as new weapons and gear, cooperative activities, and multiplayer maps. The listing confirms an earlier report from Kotaku mentioning the name and inclusions of the game’s first DLC pack.
Destiny 2 launched last week, 9/6, and already has a number of events for players to look forward to in the games first month. The roadmap is shown below, letting players know when they can access the game’s first raid, named “Leviathan”, and when Xur will make his eventual appearance.
It’s a foregone conclusion that there will be a ton of players jumping from planet to planet to partake in all of these activities, as Bungie announced Destiny 2 topped out with 1.2 million concurrent players in the game’s first five days in the public, while also becoming the highest-sold game already in 2017.
