Gamasutra is reporting that it’s not only EA’s traditional online games that get the boot, but also their more casual/social offerings. After being released a little over a year ago in March 2011 with Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age Legends will be taken offline. While no reason is given, it probably has something to do with the fans of the traditional game spending their time playing traditional games rather than browser games. There is hope though if you still want to play the game sans the multiplayer/social features.
EA did not provide an explanation for why it has chosen to shut the game down, but noted that it will eventually offer a free downloadable version for users who want to play the social RPG without any multiplayer features.
